THE LEGEND OF KASPER HAUSER
( the title comes from a German fable )
In my own personal cinema.
It can best be described as..
If Federico Fellini and Samuel Beckett wrote a script after they returned from Ibiza’s club scene.
It has all the surreal element of a Fellini classic.
( woman with an umbrella dressed in black lace and the deformed strongman dwarf )
All the lonely isolated characters and dialogue from something like Waiting For Godot or Endgame.
Vincent Gallo is excellent in two roles.
The crazily humorous “sheriff”
and the spiritual “biker”
The role of Kasper (a man’s name) is played by a woman
( Italian comedienne Silvia )
Thus you will clearly (and perhaps deliberately ) see
That “he” has small but very obviously breasts.
It was filmed on beautiful Sardinia
In eye-catching black and white.
and has some amazing dance music.
If you are in the right “headspace” for this
It is a truly unique experience.
